New York Fashion Week!

What I’m Listening to: The Curse of Curves by Cute is What We Aim For

One of my favorite things about living on the East Coast is that I can now participate in all the things that happen in NYC. Of course, one of my long-time goals was always to go up for NYFW and I got the chance just a few weeks ago. It was so fun to see how the city gets taken over, with fashion houses renting out all different kinds of properties to transform into their vision. YSL chose the middle of SoHo, though stepping past the black-clad bouncers and into a dimly lit entryway seemed to take you far, far away from the busy restaurant-lined street I had just been ushered off of.

From there it was a whirlwind (some of which you can see on my insta!) though I eventually at one point ended up on the roof, where a makeup artist showed me YSL’s (as of then) unreleased new products.

I ended up falling in love with their new Rouge Pur Couture The Slim. I managed to get my hands on one in 12 – Nu Incongru.

Isn’t it such a gorgeous color?

I also stopped in to check out Il Makiage’s first U.S. store.

(The moment I knew I was in the right place.) There I purchased a sparkly purple eyeshadow so rich it’s almost a cream shadow. I’ll link it here (in shade alter ego). It’s buildable so you can use the one color on your whole lid while still giving the perception of depth.

I always hoped to see NYFW, but never did I think I would be part of it. This was truly an awesome adventure!

Peace,

KJ
