Fourth of July

Well, the Fourth has come and gone! And let me just say, that I had an amazing time๐Ÿ˜Š

Per usual, my parents made enough food for two thousand people, including my pies.

There were fantastic fireworks, the video of which is not wanting to transfer over from Instagram, so I’m afraid I’ll have to use my pics instead.

And of course, my patriotic Lilly Pulitzer shorts (which glowed in the dark) were perfect.

Sandestin, the Ultimate Destin-ation

I’m sorry about the title. I really am. Okay, fine not really. Now that I’m back from vacation I figured that I’d go ahead and post!
Sandestin is gorgeous! In case you don’t believe me, I come bearing proof.

Anyways, it was a perfect way to start the summer. As always, I made sure to stop into Lulu’s a few times (always a great time). For those unfamiliar with Lulu’s, eating at there is more of an experience than a meal. There is a huge climbing complex, a separate bar that overlooks the water, a huge sand pit for kids in front of a stage where live music often plays, a gift shop and not one, but two restaurants.

Another thing that I did is that I went to see the Blue Angels practice in Pensacola.

All in all it was amazing trip. Although some of the things I did I’ve cut for time and length, and other things are getting their own article (hint: one involves a zip line!) that wraps up this post.
Before I go, here’s one more pic of the Gulf:

Sneak preview of my new book cover!!

20140602-214701-78421703.jpg
Exciting news!! The cover is done, nighttime is upon us and I am one happy writer. I am one step closer to being able to fully publish my book through major book sellers!! Anyways, I’ll keep it short as this next week is gonna get hectic (though exciting!). I am headed on a road trip next week so I am officially excited, (and yes, I will be instagraming and blogging the whole way ๐Ÿ˜‰).

That’s all folks!

Antique books!

20140531-231220-83540449.jpg
Aren’t they neat? These books have been in my family since late 1800’s, early 1900’s. They are school books, and let me be the first to say that it takes concentration to read even the elementary spelling book. It really does show how much a language can evolve, even in just a 100 years.
Anyways, the books include a trigonometry text, both Shakespeare’s Macbeth and his Julius Caesar, Kingsley’s Westward Ho!, Emerson’s essays and addresses and the aforementioned spelling book.
Having history so close you can touch it is really pretty amazing, especially when that history involves your own relatives. ๐Ÿ˜Š
On an unrelated note, tomorrow I will be (hopefully) posting some pictures of my book’s new cover shoot!!

The Sparrow’s Call Limited Release

Hey y’all! So as some of y’all may know, I recently published a book! Unfortunately, as is the case with self publishing (and with most things), there are always a few bumps in the road. In this case it’s that I have to wait for a proof copy of my book to be printed and shipped to me. However, hopefully that will be here any day now. Now I won’t bore you with the details, but I’m sure that some of you are asking yourselves what on earth a proof copy is. Basically it’s a copy of my book, sent to me so that I can review it in print form before it is released into major channels (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.) as well as onto eBook!
